What is Cluster Pays?
Cluster Pays is a win system where winning combinations form from groups of adjacent identical symbols - connected horizontally or vertically - with no traditional paylines or reels. A cluster typically needs a minimum of 5 connected symbols to trigger a win. The larger the cluster, the higher the payout awarded to the player.
Grid structure
Cluster Pays games typically use a square or rectangular grid - for example 7x7 or 6x6 - instead of classic vertical reels. Symbols appear or fall onto this grid, and the game evaluates connected groups after each spin.
Cascade mechanic
Most Cluster Pays games include a cascade or tumble mechanic: symbols that form a winning cluster disappear and are replaced by new symbols falling from above. This allows multiple consecutive wins to occur within a single paid spin, without any additional wager.
Difference from paylines and ways to win
With paylines, symbols must align on a predefined path. With ways to win, they must appear on adjacent reels. With Cluster Pays, only the spatial connection between identical symbols matters, regardless of their position along any particular axis.
